Major Initiatives
Three vital community clinics are sustained by major District grants: The Fair Oaks Clinic, Samaritan House and Ravenswood Health Center. These three clinics are safety net organizations serving all District residents, providing primary medical care, dental care, counseling, social service referral services, food and housing. Thousands of residents benefit by these clinics and are provided care that helps keep them out of very expensive hospital emergency rooms. In addition, hundreds of residents, including doctors, dentists, nurses and professionals in a number of fields find these clinics to be rewarding places to volunteer time and effort in service to the community.
Other major initiatives include the San Mateo County Children’s Health Initiative (CHI), ongoing support of the Sequoia Hospital Foundation for the benefit of community hospital care and an investment in the health of school children through school nursing programs.
