San Mateo County Sheriff’s Activities League Healthy Kids was created for children in need of nutrition & fitness education and physical activity. This program works with our SMC STAR/Academicos soccer leagues and with SAL’s other sports programs teaching youth and families nutrition, healthy cooking and the benefits of physical activity. Other components of the program are community service and wellness screenings.
I’m proud of the accomplishments of the Sheriff’s Activities League. In the last few years, we have more than doubled the programs we offer and the youth we serve. We will continue to strengthen relationships and build trust between deputies and youth because it really does make a difference.” Sheriff Greg Munks
