The center supports a school-based Prevention Education Program for adolescents that helps them and their families recover from substance abuse and related issues. The program emphasizes health, strength and recovery.

What it is: Drugs of choice for adolescents are ecstasy, heroin and methamphetamines, with youth as young as age 10 experimenting or regularly using them. Drug use is a major component of youth offenders’ behaviors, with an estimated 85 percent of those in the law enforcement system being users.
El Centro de Libertad treats the problem with primary outpatient treatment of abusers, family education, anger management, continuing care and relapse prevention.
