A program to improve women’s health through nutrition, activity and health education while undergoing drug or alcohol treatment at Hope House

by the Service League of San Mateo County

What it is: HOPE HOUSE is a program of the Service League of San Mateo County, a non-profit organization, which provides a 180-day residential treatment program for women who have been involved in the criminal justice system and are referred to its program from either the San Mateo County Women’s Correctional Center, or the California Department of Corrections. Women also are welcomed on a self-referral basis.

People can and do change more than one behavior at a time. Deciding to stop smoking or reduce alcohol consumption can be the ideal time to make positive changes such as beginning to exercise or starting a diet. You can change your life, so be bold in your goals.
