Tip: For Community Health Tip from Ombudsman Services
New retirees can find themselves at loose ends and bored with mindless activity that does not challenge the intellect. That’s bad for their health, because research shows an active brain challenged to learn new things staves off dementia. Put your brain to good work — become an advocate for seniors and residents in long-term care. Those for whom you advocate benefit, community health benefits, you benefit should you some day need care — but your brain benefits the most.
