Credentialed School Nurse

Budget and staffing reductions have cut school nurse staffing in the district to one full-time equivalent for 7,300 students in grades nine through 12 and 8,000 adults in the adult school. One additional school nurse will be added.

What it is: A second school nurse is a critical need. The district’s existing school nurse position may experience cutbacks in hours due to budgetary constraints. At the same time, increasing numbers of students are entering school with chronic medical conditions or conditions, such as diabetes, that require close monitoring.
