Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA)

<< back

CORA meets the basic needs of shelter, food, clothing and crisis counseling for victims of domestic violence, serving 1,300 residents of Sequoia Healthcare District.

by CORA

What it is: Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse marshals donated goods and services, monetary donations and grant funding to shelter individuals, predominantly women, who have been victimized by domestic abuse and violence. CORA staffs a 24-hour hotline and a shelter that serves thousands of clients who either find their way to the shelter or are referred by social service or law enforcement agencies.

Tip: For Community Health Tip from CORA

Speaking about health in the right terms sometimes is as important as doing something about it, because choosing the wrong words can discourage even the greatest optimist. Negative messages are easy to internalize and difficult to combat. Be positive and look forward for your health.
