After-School Student Fitness

At-risk, low-income students and families frequently do not have access to fitness training or resources. Riekes Center for Human Enrichment provides athletic fitness, peer mentoring and nutritional counseling after school hours.

What it is: Riekes Center’s goals are to enhance athletic fitness, teach the how, what and why of safe, efficient and effective training, teach self reliance, achieve tangible metrics of fitness success and educate students and their families in good nutrition.

Look for city parks, running trails or public playgrounds where you can run, jump, climb, swing, slide, crawl and laugh your way to fitness. You can also throw a Frisbee, hit a few golf balls or jog through the park.
