Warm water physical therapy for disabled children and adults of low income or disadvantaged backgrounds

What it is: Abilities United is a specialized program of physical therapy in the only warm water pool in South San Mateo County. Participants are children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities ranging from arthritis to cerebral palsy to spinal cord injuries to stroke who otherwise might be forced into institutions, sometimes hundreds of miles from their homes. Therapists assisted by Abilities Unlimited volunteers staff sessions.

Many gyms and fitness centers offer free one-day pass or discounted student membership. Try it out. Even if you don’t stick with it, you will at least have learned circuit training. You can do it at home.
